Manu Bhakar’s Early Life
Manu Bhakar was born on 18 February 2002 in Goria Village of Jhajjar District, Haryana. Manu Bhakar’s father, Ram Kishan Bhakar is a Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy, and her mother, Sumedha Bhakar holds a master’s degree in Sanskrit and was a Principal in the school of Goria. Manu Bhakar completed schooling at Universal Higher Senior Secondary School, Goria, which her Grandfather Raj Karan Bhakar started. During Schooling, she participated in various games tennis, skating, and martial arts, and won serval medals at the national level in these sports, when she was 14 years old, she decided to focus on a particular game and chose shooting sport and took it seriously.

Manu Bhakar started her career in shooting sport seriously in 2016, her first coach Anil Jakhar trained her for the Junior World Tournaments. In 2017, Manu had the first success at the international level at the Asian Junior Championships, winning the Silver Medal. Manu Bhakar won 1st gold medal in the 2018 International Shooting Sports Federation World Cup in the Women’s 10-meter air pistol event and won 2nd gold medal in the World Cup’s Mixed 10-metre air pistol event. In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Manu Bhakar won the Gold Medal. In the 2018 Youth Olympics, Manu won a gold medal and became the first woman from India to win a Gold Medal. Manu Bhakar was mentally very strong and her concentration was very strong, which makes her different from others. Manu Bhakar won multiple medals at multiple championships, tournament,s, and events. In the 2022 Asian Games, Manu Bhakar won Team Gold for India with Esha Singh. She became the first Indian after the Independence of India to win 2 medals at a single Olympic.
